BOAR HUNTER "BREASTPLATE MATES"
NW of Charters Towers
Gday, my name is Lee Gowans and i'm from Proserpine NQ, i ordered my boar hunter breast plate a few weeks before christmas 2009. The boar in photo was caught out in the basalt country NW of Charters Towers, we were on our annual trip out that way 3 days after christmas 2009. He was caught in the middle of the day as we were making our way out to the back of the property to some mills. We stopped at a spring/creek on the way for a cool down when the dogs got onto another boar further down. We spotted the big fella as he stood up out of his wallow to watch the dogs on the other pig. We run the dogs on to the big fella (which hadn't moved an was only 20m away). My 12 mth old bull arab/staghound 'desiel' (mad prick) hit him head on and got several good uppercuts (while he was in the air laying across his nose). I thought he would have holes for sure, but nothin just a few marks on the collar. He was a good grump fat as from all the deadys around and would of dressed around 100kg. Desiel is the dog i measured for the collar he has gotten a bit leggier an weighs around 37kg. -- cheers, Lee Gowans

Great Hooks
Hey Greg, please find attached photos of dogs and the pigs that were caught at the weekend. This is the first trip out with the vests. Quite impressed with them. Caught 5 pigs and brought back the 3 best, 2 sows 80+ and the boar 120+ with great hooks. No damage to the dogs! Have a look at the photos and let me know if you would like a story about the trip. Delighted with the vests. -- Jason, Darwin

South of Katherine, NT
I have attached a photo of myself, my dog and a pig that we caught. The dog is named Ted and is a Bull Arab. His measurments are as follows: Height: 63cm at the shoulders Weight: 40kg Neck Measurement: 38cm This boar was caught on a swamp south of Katherine in the Norhtern Territory in November 2009. The pig weighed 110kg! It was caught while checking bores on a station. The pig was wallering in the mud in a turkey's nest. The dogs latched on and the boar was taken. We are new to the Northern Territory and this was Ted's third pig with his new Bloom Brother's breastplate. We are loving the pig hunting the Territory offers. -- Thank You, Graham Power

Hagler
Hagler is a 3 year old male Qld line liver nose bull arab. He is 50kg, 72cm to his shoulder and a 59cm neck. Him and his partner in crime a bloombrothers dog Break, a black wolfhound dane cross smelt this pig off the back of the ute and i picked them up 850 yards away on my tracking collar, on the bank of the Corrella River. The pig dressed 71kg. These collars time after time handle a thrashing from good big boars with very minimal damage to the collar and dog. This collar i have been using for 2 years. -- Bill Krause

A Bumper Sow
Hi Boys, I noticed a competition regarding your breast plates in the latest Bacon Busters mag. See attached photo of my three muts (all Coonhound crosses) with your plates on and a bumper sow we caught on Saturday. Estimated live weight was around the 200kg mark. I got her on one of the mine sites that I am allowed to hunt... nobody has hunted there for years... we had to tow her out of the scrub using a "snatch strap". P.S. The red bitch in the photo is out of my Coonhound over the Boerboel, Dane, Wolfhound, Pitbull bitch you gave me a few years back. -- Cheers, Josh
All 3 dogs in the large standard BOARHUNTER BREASTPLATES
First Pig

Breastplate Versatility
I purchased 3 of your medium breastplates. The photo of the three dogs are to show how versatile the collars are to fit three different sized dogs. This might give other hunters an idea of how they adjust to various dogs. The black boar weighed 115kg, live weight and the black and white boar weighed 87kg, live weight. -- Fred Millard (Nebo, Queensland)

Birthday Boar
It was my step-daughter's 8th birthday. We gave her a choice to go to town to the movies or get pizza. But no, not this kid, she wanted to go pigging. So we packed the gear and dogs and we headed out. There was no sign of pigs and the dogs showed no interest, so back to camp we went. The next morning it was the same outlook as the day before. We were just about to give up and head home, until our main hunting dog, Boo (Dane, Bully, Mastiff X) flew off the back and into the Lantana. Then we heard nothing, then all of a sudden, every pig hunter's favourite moment, the good old bark. Once we heard this, the other two dogs flew off the back, bolting towards the bark. That's when the battle began. As we entered the Lantana, the dogs had secured the beast and was holding well. Not a bad boar. 87kg and a good set of hooks. Not a bad pig for an eight year old's birthday.

Hi, I wanted to thank you for the good quality chest
plates and the Doggin Boars 3 Dvd which i think is the best so far.
I am from Wingham in n.s.w so most of the places i go hunting is in
the hills. Is there any tips you could give me to train my 9 month
old pup to be a good scent dog off the ute? Since i don't know anyone
that has hunting dogs that mine could learn from. My mate and i wanted
to know if you sell any pups from your hunting dogs as we would be
very interested?
Once again THANKS, -- B. Moon P.S. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!
